Quinta de Valbom Promotion

Located in Canelas, on the northern bank of the Douro we find Quinta de Valbom, owned by the company that also owns the Alentejo wine brand Herdade dos Grous. This Estate was acquired in 2012 and, despite its semi - abandonment Luis Duarte, oenologist and project manager, and Ricardo Silva, also oenologist, managed to make the harvest that same year. Their first two wines resulted in practically biological wines, since there was almost no time for an intervention in the vineyard. Quinta de Valbom Tinto and Quinta de Valbom Reserva Tinto are the two wines that this property produces. They result from vinification in granite lagares and the ageing takes place in French oak barrels. More than just producing one more wine, Luis Duarte's aim is to produce an ex-libris of the douro region, so he is in no hurry to put it on the market. On the contrary, he bets on prolonged ageing and the result is a wine where all the elements are more integrated, more harmonized giving more pleasure to drink it!
